Signature Link Calculator: 2nd Test
December 21, 2006 on 7:41 am | In Signature Calculator |As I said I would do in my first post, I’m again testing the Signature Link Calculator by looking at previous Digital Point signature auctions.
I’ll start with the first one that successfully sold, and work my way back. I’ll ignore those that haven’t sold, and those that are sold at BIN (buy it now) because that usually doesn’t reflect the true market value.
#1 auction here, calculated price $7, sold for $7
#2 auction here, calculated price $48.14, sold for $20
#3 auction here, calculated price $99.88, sold for $100 (I know I said I wouldn’t include those sold at BIN, but this one was just too close to pass up)
#4 auction here, calculated price $10.03, sold for $9
#5 auction here, calculated price $4.18, sold for $5
So all in all pretty close, I wish I could remember my statistics so I could work out the standard of deviation, but I can’t even really remember what that is…
I’ll do this again every once in a while, it’s good for me to stay on top of it anyway. The calculators been getting a bit of criticism as it seems to grossly overinflate massive posters signature values, but I think their just bots anyway.

How much does the calculator think yfs1bot should be able to get?

Actually, I jus fouind the thing and it said like $531. If you were getting a hard time for that value, it isn’t hugely far off. I have been offered over the $300 a month mark many times (Ok I realize that isn’t $531 but it is still closer then the people giving you a hard time probably think).
I never accepted those offers but at the time they took into account one thing your tool can’t measure. Is the forum poster a trusted source which can add a lot of marketing potential.

Wow, your creators could be making a small fortune
I’m suprised at $300+, it’s the highest I’ve heard of. Glad it’s not too far off considering all the flak (as you said) I’ve been copping about it not being accurate.

Completely agree about reputation. But of course it can’t really be measured accurately - most blobs I get are largely due to wit. I’d like the calculator to take some more variables into account but that would probably decrease it’s accuracy.
Maybe I should test people with the SEO crossword and have them input their score
